Spring Fever !

So It's May 1st..... Can you believe it...  The months have flown by and according to the calendar we should be in Springtime now....  Wish Mother Nature was given that memo! LOL

I know that I know what Springtime in the Rockies is all about (I've lived in CO 30+ yrs), but it doesn't stop me from hoping that this year will be different and maybe, just MAYBE this year will have more than just 2 seasons.... Summer and Winter..... BUT so far my hopes are unfullfilled... AND I'm SOOOOO ready for sunny days, lazy nights on the porch enjoying the evenings, hiking, gardening and generally being out of the house ! 

After a teasingly warm and beautiful week (mind you most of us had to be indoors at work during this time sneaking out at lunchtime and trying not to go back inside) and thinking of outdoor gardening and lawn work for the weekend  plans have be thwarted again by a return of cold, dreary, drizzly weather !  Then I hear we may have SNOW again..... Now mind you I know we need the wet to combat the dry climate but dang it can't it rain and do its cold nastiness during the week when we are all stuck indoors anyway?! 

Not to mention our backyard is a work in progress and half of it is undone.  Sooo when this beautiful wet weather happens I have..... you guessed it MUD.... now mind you this wouldn't be a problem if it wasn't for the 4 fur kids..... One of which, at 5 mos of age, has bigger paws than the other three little ones combined !   So you can imagine the mess.... and the cleanup of having to wipe everyones paws before they can come in....

So heres the deal I'd like to strike up with Mother Nature..... Let it rain during the work week (can't enjoy it anyway) and let it be sunny and nice during the weekends !  WHOSE WITH ME !

Seems a fair trade off to me... This way we busy weekend people can hike, bike, garden and generally get outdoors after a long busy and grueling work week.... Whoooohoooo !
