 Greetings Bloggers!

HOW MANY times can i tell you to pray to the weather gods so we do not have any more four letter words falling?!??!?

S N O W!

ICK!  It's crazy here in the state of Colorado.  Lets break this down, can we, shall we?  Three days ago it nearly reached 75?!?!?  And today maybe a high of 40!!  This is too much man.  Its like the snot nosed kid tinkering with the air conditioning in the house to the point of witch he breaks the knob!  Now trust me i am all about tweaking the knobs and throwing the switches and gently sliding over the dials.  BUT this is nuts man!  I woke up to find more snow on the ground?  I ask you this why can't it just F^&%$#@ GOD &^%$# RAIN?  I mean honestly?!?!?  :)  Oh well the frozen people of Colorado have to get their rain some how right?  Sometimes when i think about this good and hard i wonder why people even sell ice cream here?  IT'S too flipping cold to eat that right?  Reminds me of Grand Dad Ray yelling at me in Montana 'Do not eat the yellow snow you bonehead!"  God bless him btw!

CMN (country music news)

This is kind of a big deal!  JOHN RICH has snagged some heavy hitters to act in his new video for "Shuttin' Detroit Down" -- MICKEY ROURKE and KRIS KRISTOFFERSON. The guys play union workers in the clip. John says, quote, "Kris gets fired in the video and they evict him from his house, and Mickey Rourke comes racing into the yard to save Kristofferson. It is just world-class-level acting."

John actually met Mickey a few years back drinking Crown Royal cocktails in New York City, and the two kept in touch after John learned Mickey was a BIG & RICH fan. John says, quote, "I called him and I said, 'You're the perfect face to represent blue collar America. Will you do [the video?],' and he said, 'Absolutely.'" "Shuttin' Detroit Down" is the lead single from John's new album Son of a Preacher Man, in stores now.

RASCAL FLATTS is set to play their first big stadium show at Chicago's Wrigley Field on July 18th, but a neighborhood association near the stadium wants the concert cancelled, saying it'll conflict with their annual summer festival. Upon learning of the mini-uproar in the Windy City, JOE DON ROONEY of THE FLATTS says, quote, "[We'd] never want to cause any ripples in Chicago. It's a great market for us. Again, we're humbled just to do Wrigley Field."

Lead singer GARY LeVOX was a little more straightforward with his words saying, quote, "Is that the only thing...you have to do with your time is to go protest some kind of show?" Rascal Flatts will be bringing VINCE GILL and DARIUS RUCKER along to Wrigley Field, and tickets for the July 18th show are now on sale at LiveNation.com.

I heard about this on Sunday from Larry the RECORD guy.  TAYLOR SWIFT was named as one of Rolling Stone's leading "agents of change" in the world earlier this week, and now she's up for a very prestigious honor from Time magazine

Each year, Time asks readers to vote to determine the World's 100 Most Influential People, out of a pre-determined list of about 200 candidates. This year, the candidates include Taylor along with her pals MILEY CYRUS and THE JONAS BROTHERS. Others on the list, alongside world leaders like BARACK OBAMA, include actor ZAC EFRON, filmmaker JUDD APATOW and comedian JON STEWART. You can vote for your favorite at Time.com.

While voting, remember that this list isn't supposed to reflect how hot, popular or powerful these folks are, but how their talents transform the world in which we live.

BIG D!  DARIUS RUCKER is enjoying his second number-one hit with "It Won't Be Like This For Long," but he didn't set out to write a sentimental song about his kids at first. Darius and Nashville writers CHRIS DUBOIS and ASHLEY GORLEY were planning on writing a drinking song when they started talking about their little ones at home. Darius tells, Billboard.com, quote, "We decided we were going to write a little lullaby song for me to sing to my kids, and before long we had 'It Won't Be Like This For Long.'" Darius's number-one selling country album, Learn to Live, is now in stores.

More big gigantastic names to rock the awards!  The Academy of Country Music has announced the winners of a few more off-camera awards. DOLLY PARTON receives the Jim Reeves International Award for taking country music to the world. The Poet's Award for outstanding songwriters goes to MERLE HAGGARD and the late HARLAN HOWARD, while the Cliffie Stone Pioneer Award for country music trailblazers will be awarded to KENNY ROGERS, RANDY TRAVIS, HANK WILLIAMS, JR. the late JERRY REED.

TOBY KEITH's movie Beer for My Horses has also been selected for the Tex Ritter Award, which is given to film that give big exposure to country music. Walk the Line and O Brother Where Art Thou? have received that honor in the past.

The 44th Annual ACM Awards air live on CBS-TV on Sunday, April 5th at 8:00 PM ET

LOL  LADY ANTEBELLUM's making some small changes that could have big results in the future by partnering with Brita and their Filter for Good campaign. The initiative encourages everyone to use reusable water bottles instead of constantly throwing away plastic bottles. Lady A member HILLARY SCOTT says, quote, "The message of our new video for 'I Run to You' is about paying it forward...We're going to try and make small lifestyle changes now to pay it forward for people younger than us." Head over to FilterforGood.com for more details.

Lady A will be taking their Filter for Good water bottles along on their summer tour opening for KENNY CHESNEY. His Sun City Carnival trek begins April 17th in Connecticut.

TRACY LAWRENCE and his band are doing fine after a tour bus accident on Sunday in Nebraska. The left front tire on the bus blew out, causing the bus to run over the median into the oncoming lane, according to CMT.com. Luckily, no traffic was coming in the other direction. Tracy, his road manager and two band members were able to get on another tour bus that was part of their tour. He says, quote, "By divine intervention, we were at the right place at the right time for a serious incident like this to happen and have everyone walk away unscathed."

Here's how Avello has it going into the final ten contestants. Keep in mind these are odds just for fun, since Nevada law prohibits gambling on reality shows:

MATT GIRAUD -- 9 to 2
LIL ROUNDS -- 5 to 2
ADAM LAMBERT -- 6 to 1
ANOOP DESAI -- 10 to 1
ALLISON IRAHETA -- 12 to 1
MEGAN JOY -- 20 to 1
KRIS ALLEN -- 25 to 1
SCOTT MACINTYRE -- 30 to 1
MICHAEL SARVER -- 35 to 1

American Idol is still the most popular show on TV, but ABC's Dancing with the Stars is closing the gap. Last Tuesday's Idol performance show on Fox was seen by 21.9 million viewers, approximately 700 thousand more people than the audience for Dancing with the Stars' performance episode the night before. That's the smallest margin ever between the two reality competitions in the same week.

On the other hand, the Dancing with the Stars results show last Tuesday only had 12.74 million viewers when it aired opposite Idol. Furthermore, last Wednesday's Idol results show was the highest-rated program of the week, drawing 23.7 million viewers.

Elsewhere in the Nielsens:

* PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA was one of TV's biggest stars last week. Not only did his appearance on The Tonight Show mark the program's highest ratings in four years, his interview with 60 Minutes on Sunday scored 17 million viewers.

* The series finale of Sci Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica last Friday was seen by 2.4 million viewers.

* Is ABC really better off with Ted? The comedy Better Off Ted premiered last week to just 5.5 million viewers.

CBS won the primetime ratings race for the week, followed by Fox, ABC, NBC, the CW and MyNetworkTV.

Here are the top 10 primetime programs for the week of March 16th-22nd, according to Nielsen Media Research:

1. American Idol (Wednesday), Fox, 23.71 million viewers.
2. American Idol (Tuesday), Fox, 21.89 million viewers.
3. Dancing with the Stars (Monday), ABC, 21.22 million viewers.
4. 60 Minutes, CBS, 17.04 million viewers.
5. NCIS, CBS, 15.84 million viewers.
6. The Mentalist, CBS, 15.49 million viewers.
7. Desperate Housewives, ABC, 14.75 million viewers.
8. Grey's Anatomy, ABC, 14.61 million viewers.
9. Two and a Half Men, CBS, 14.12 million viewers.
10. Criminal Minds, CBS, 13.74 million viewers.

LINDSAY LOHAN would love to concentrate on her acting career, but all the rumors about her love life are weighing on her mind. She denies she's been fighting with her DJ girlfriend, SAMANTHA RONSON, as has been speculated numerous times in recent weeks. She tells E! News, quote, "I'm really a good person and I have a good heart and just want to work. The only reason I go to clubs is to hear Samantha spin or be normal."

Lohan may hit the clubs, but she says she doesn't drink or use drugs. She says she's learned from her many mistakes and that, quote, "I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever [sic] may need it."

However, her goals apparently have been foiled by what Lohan calls "the sicko fans and the noise," meaning the tabloid reports on her personal life. The 22-year-old actress says, quote, "If people would just leave my personal life alone -- because it's really not that interesting -- then I could land a great role."

Lohan clearly has big plans for herself. Not only does she want to star in Oscar-worthy films, she says she also wants to launch her own charity, produce TV and movie projects, resume her music career, and write books.

{Wingnut's take}  Forget about a great role, Lindsay. Just focus on getting ANY role.

Lindsay is blaming everyone else for her inability to find work. Maybe she should go back to rehab because it sounds like she's on something.

Lindsay wants to do movies, TV and music and launch her own charity. She's got a lot on her plate. Everything except food.

SETH ROGEN will fight crime this summer, but first, he needs to get in shape. He's slated to play the title character in the superhero flick The Green Hornet, which he's also co-writing. Rogen's character is a newspaper publisher who slips on a mask and takes on bad guys as his alter ego, the Green Hornet.

The project begins filming in June, but Rogen says he still needs to get into what he calls "crime-fighting form." He also says the role of Kato, the Green Hornet sidekick played by BRUCE LEE in the 1960s TV series, has not yet been cast.

The Green Hornet won't hit theaters until next year, but Rogen is involved in two upcoming films: the animated Monsters vs. Aliens, and the mall cop comedy Observe and Report.

Even though ZAC EFRON has dropped out of the Footloose remake, we'll still see the High School Musical actor on the big screen in the near future. He's the star of the comedy 17 Again, in which he plays a 37-year-old man trapped in a 17-year-old teen's body. Perhaps not coincidentally, the film opens in theaters on April 17th.

Paramount Pictures confirmed yesterday that Efron has left the remake of the 1984 film Footloose, but did not disclose the reason behind his decision. According to reports, Efron was wary of starring in yet another musical.

Efron's already got his eye on a new project. Variety reports that he's in talks to star in an adaptation of the novel The Death and Life of Charlie St. Cloud, about a caretaker of a cemetery who's haunted by the death of his younger brother. The movie would reunite Efron with 17 Again director BURR STEERS.

The hour-long show doesn't have an official title yet, but GEORGE LOPEZ will be hosting a late-night program, beginning this fall on TBS. The show will air Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m. The stand-up comic is best known for his self-titled sitcom, which ran for six years on ABC.

In announcing the talk show venture, Lopez says he wants to reach a diverse audience that isn't addressed on late-night TV, declaring that late-night programming and TV entertainment in general is, quote, "a place where everything is geared towards Caucasians." Lopez says he wants to be inclusive and model his show in the same way that ARSENIO HALL did with his talk fest in the 1990s.

TBS programming chief MICHAEL WRIGHT said Lopez was the one who approached the cable network with a pilot episode that was shot on an outdoor soundstage with guests EVA LONGORIA, SAMUEL L. JACKSON and DANE COOK. And the TBS exec says Lopez wasn't the only asking questions on the show; audience members also got a chance to talk.

The show will be produced in Los Angeles and debut this November.

{Wingnut's take}  Lopez wants to be just like Arsenio Hall. I guess that means he'll be completely irrelevant in 15 years.

Do you mean to say there's going to be a late-night show that's NOT on NBC?

The pilot was shot outdoors. I hope the network gives him an indoor set in the fall. It gets cold, you know.

Police in Los Angeles have determined that Grey's Anatomy star T.R. KNIGHT was at fault for a three-car accident last month on Hollywood Boulevard that sent one woman to the hospital with minor injuries.

A police spokesman told E! News, Knight was at fault, but added it was just a minor incident. The spokesman said the actor was quote, "late getting through the intersection." Knight is not expected to be cited for any violations and the matter is now in the hands of insurance companies. Knight plays Dr. George O'Malley on the ABC series.

{Wingnut's take}  He's a Hollywood star. I'm sure that woman with minor injuries is on the phone with a lawyer right now: "How much can I get from a TV star?"

He was "late getting through the intersection." That's just Hollywood-speak for "running a red light."

Starting today, some of the items up for grabs in an upcoming massive MICHAEL JACKSON memorabilia auction will go on display at New York City's Hard Rock Cafe. Some of Jacko's possessions going on the block include his crystal-studded glove, his American Music Awards and MTV Awards, and his custom-designed tour outfits. But the actual auction, taking place April 22nd through April 25th in Beverly Hills, will be much more extensive.

DARREN JULIEN, who owns the auction company Julien's Auctions, tells us that it took 30 guys with 10 semi-trailers three months to go through Michael's former home, Neverland, and clear everything out for the sale. Among the things they removed: the huge "Neverland" iron gates, arcade machines, marble fireplaces and even a train station. Julien says he expects the auction to raise between 10 and 20 million dollars.

Of course, whether or not the auction will take place is another story. Earlier this month, Michael sued to have it stopped -- a move which baffles Julien. He tells us, "[Michael's team] approved the press release that went out for the auction. They approved the catalog covers...we had their permission all along."

Right now, Julien's Auctions is legally allowed to proceed with their plans to publicize the auction until April 3rd, when the lawsuit will be heard. Julien tells us, "We have a valid contract. Regardless of how [Michael] treats us, we're still gonna continue to...put on the first-class exhibition and auction that he asked us to do." To bid, visit JuliensAuctions.com.
