GREETINGS BLOGGERS!
Whew i feel much better than yesterday! WOAH! I guess i am getting too old to drink. I had to attend the Adam Gregory show at the Carey On Saloon. I was contacted by the people who represent Adam and I am huge fan btw! Yea i know like a super geek. He has what people have been looking for in country music. Sometimes you hear a bunch of non-sense on the radio and people try to get you to like a current artist, through advertising and marketing but this guy has what the guy in Jerry Maguire Cuba Gooding Jr. calls the 'quawn'! Look it up or rent the video to know more of what i am talking about it's awesome! :) ANYWAY when Jason Aldean's dad calls you to go have a good time you don't say no. Even if it with the other radio company that i worked for previously! It was well worth it but yesterday i was hun-the-flip over to the max! WHEW those people's at the Carey ON can pour beer, and i guess i can drink it LOL! Oh yea and what the heck is that Tuaka stuff? That was the kriptonite for the WINGNUT! YIKES! Very good times, very amazing times let me tell you! Adam is not a drinker so he went back to the hotel I totally understand and respect a dude like that. Me on the other hand have no control over that part of my life period! LOL i am teasing but it's fun to drink when your not paying let me tell ya! Jason's Dad is the bomb btw. Always a wonderful professional and great friend now i can say. He told me about getting started in the music business. And as we hammered the Bud Light he never skipped or missed a beat. And always a great dude for taking care of peoples pictures. YES, because of my loud mouth people are and were like, "OMG your Jason's dad?" They wanted pictures and after the tenth he wanted to kick my butt LOL! AGAIN whew stay away from millions of gallons of BUD wow. Either this altitude or my tired lame self can't handle this kind of consumption LOL!
GOOD STUFF though, pictures to come soon!
CMN (country music news)
The stars will be out in full force for the ACM Artist of the Decade concert honoring GEORGE STRAIT. The show tapes on Monday, April 6th in Las Vegas with a TV premiere date set for Wednesday, May 27th on CBS-TV. BROOKS & DUNN, ALAN JACKSON, MONTGOMERY GENTRY and JOHN RICH have been added to the performance line-up along with BLAKE SHELTON, JACK INGRAM, MIRANDA LAMBERT, LEE ANN WOMACK, LeANN RIMES, JAMEY JOHNSON and Oscar-winner JAMIE FOXX. They join previously announced performers FAITH HILL, TOBY KEITH, KEITH URBAN, TIM McGRAW, SUGARLAND and TAYLOR SWIFT. Tickets are still available for the show taping through Ticketmaster.
MARTINA McBRIDE is thrilled to give her fans the gift of new music today with the release of her latest album, Shine. The eleven-song set features her current hit, "Ride." Martina says, quote, "I can't wait for [everyone] to have it and for them to be able to listen to it and think about it and talk about it." Martina is in New York this week to promote the new project. Look for her to perform on NBC-TV's Today show his morning and tomorrow followed by an appearance on Live with Regis & Kelly tomorrow as well.
KEITH URBAN performs from a place of honesty and openness on his upcoming album, Defying Gravity, and he credits his wife NICOLE KIDMAN and his daughter SUNDAY ROSE with helping him live in the present. Keith says, quote, "I was always thinking about tomorrow, or the past, anywhere but here. Now I love being present. I have a lot to be grateful for in the present." Keith is taking his new music on the road starting tonight as he kicks off his No Frills run of club shows in San Francisco. Keith's Escape Together World Tour launches in May, and the new album Defying Gravity hits stores next Tuesday.
TAYLOR SWIFT finally got to catch up with her best friend ABIGAIL over the weekend while she was home from college on spring break. Taylor wrote on her Twitter account, quote, "[I] lived vicariously through her college stories." Even though she's about to launch her massive Fearlessconcert tour, Taylor's still hoping to spend some time with Abigail at her school in Kansas. She tells us, quote, "I think it'll really be fun for me to just kinda go to a college campus."
For the rest of the year, Taylor will be spending most of her time with her band and crew on the Fearless tour, and she's still got a few spots left to fill. Today in Nashville, Taylor will be holding open auditions to find three performers to join her on tour. Those auditioning should be able to dance, sing and act. And experience playing the violin is a definite plus. According to The Tennessean newspaper, Taylor won't be attending the auditions, but she has been making preparations for the trek. Yesterday, Taylor posted a Tweet saying she was out shopping for furniture to go backstage at her shows. The Fearless tour launches April 23rd in Evansville, Indiana.
In other Taylor news, it looks like her international touring is paying off in album sales. So far, her project Fearless has been certified gold in Norway, shipped gold in the United Kingdom and gone platinum in Australia.
JOHN RICH has hit a nerve with his latest single, "Shuttin' Detroit Down," just one of 11 tunes on his new solo album, Son of a Preacher Man. John says the album was written from his point of view. He says, quote, "There's songs about my dad. There's songs about my grandfather. There's songs about my personal views about things going on in our society right now."
So, how does this project differ from something John would do on a BIG & RICH album? He says, quote, "The subject matter of these songs are personal to me...it wouldn't make any sense for BIG KENNY to be singing it...This record speaks to my life." Son of a Preacher Man hits stores today.
John has several TV appearances promoting Son of a Preacher Man lined up for this week, including a stop at ABC-TV's Good Morning America today. He'll appear on FOX News' Hannity's America tonight and GLEN BECK's show tomorrow afternoon at 5:00 ET. An appearance on NBC-TV's Today show and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon are set for this Thursday as well.
IN OTHER NEWS!!!! ABOUT JOHN!
Nashville Star may return to NBC someday, but JOHN RICH definitely won't be back as a judge. During a recent radio interview, John said, quote, "I'll never do Nashville Star ever again as long as NBC has anything to do with it...I swear to God they don't know jack you-know-what about country music."
John apparently got into, quote, "bloody knuckle fist fights" with the show's producers on a weekly basis, and was upset that Nashville Star contestants had to perform pop songs on the show. John says, quote, "You can sing straight-ahead country music. We don't need the other people's music to make us cool enough to listen to."
John's got a full plate without any more TV commitments. His new solo album, Son of a Preacher Man, lands in stores tomorrow featuring his hit single, "Shuttin' Detroit Down."
HUGE CLINT NEWS!
| DENNIS RODMAN went off on CLINT BLACK on last night's Celebrity Apprentice on NBC-TV. The former NBA star verbally attacked Clint before leaving the initial team meeting in a huff. Clint laughed off the attack with his other teammates as they prepared to pitch a new video phone product. Clint and project manager BRIAN McKNIGHT, an R&B singer, also butted heads over who would control the music in the presentation. Clint and Dennis seemed to make amends in the boardroom, but Dennis and Brian went head to head. The guy's team finally won for the first time this season on this challenge, so a woman had to go home this time. In the end, Deal or No Deal suitcase model CLAUDIA JORDAN was fired |
| More developments in the ongoing story of LEANN RIMES' alleged affair with TV movie co-star EDDIE CIBRIAN. A woman claiming to be the cousin of LeAnn's hubby DEAN SHEREMET called a Michigan radio show on Friday claiming that Dean doesn't care about the affair because he's gay. The woman identified herself as "Pebbles" and said, quote, "He's been gay since he was probably five. The family literally used to take bets on what age he would come out, and then all of the sudden he got married." LeAnn's rep tells UsMagazine.com that Leann and Dean don't know of any cousin named Pebbles. The statement goes on to say, quote, "Dean and LeAnn are also interested in connecting with their other long-lost family members: 'Fred,' 'Wilma,' 'Barney' and 'Bamm-Bamm.' So Pebbles, please let us know if you have spoken to them, too." LeAnn and Dean tied the knot in February 2002. As we told you last week, Eddie Cibrian has denied the affair with LeAnn, but LeAnn only said she was going through a, quote, "difficult time." |
| CHUCK WICKS and JULIANNE HOUGH stepped on the Dancing with the Stars dance floor last night with a pretty impressive fox trot. As always, Julianne looked gorgeous in a backless, silver dress while Chuck was sharp in a tuxedo. The couple danced to SUGARLAND's "All I Wanna Do," and the judges were really impressed with their moves. BRUNO was glad that Chuck pulled his weight this week, CARRIE ANN said Chuck could be a contender this season, and LEN thought they had great posture. Their scores were 8, 7 and 8 for a total of 23. It was Chuck and Julianne's best score to date. Tune in tonight at 9:00 ET to make sure they make it to next week on the Dancing with the Stars results show |

DAVID LETTERMAN overcame a minor obstacle last week to marry his girlfriend of 23 years, REGINA LASKO. Letterman confirmed on CBS'Late Show last night that he and Lasko, the mother of his five-year-old son HARRY, tied the knot last Thursday at the Teton County Courthouse in Choteau, Montana, where Letterman maintains a home. The couple decided to take the plunge even after their pickup truck got stuck in the mud on the way to the courthouse.
Recalling the muddy situation to his audience, the 61-year-old Letterman said, quote, "So now we think, 'Well, somebody'll come -- no, nobody comes along...so I get out of the truck and I walk two miles back to the house into a 50-mile-an-hour wind....And the whole way, I'm thinking, 'See, smart ass, see, see, you try to get married, this is what happens." Letterman said when he returned to his wife-to-be and their son in another car, Harry asked if they were still headed into town. The late-night host said when he answered in the affirmative, Harry, quote, "gets very upset because mom had told him if I wasn't back in an hour, the deal was off."
Letterman said he had been dating the 48-year-old Lasko since February of 1986. He said, quote, "I secretly felt that men who were married admired me...like I was the last of the real gunslingers, you know what I'm saying?" This is Letterman's second marriage; his first was from 1969 to 1977. He and Lasko have yet to go on a honeymoon.
{wingnut's take} Letterman got married after 23 years of dating. Now, THAT'S a fear of commitment.
Letterman got married. Now the only void in his life is the space between his teeth.
STEPHEN COLBERT is one step closer to having a new room at the International Space Station named after him. The name "Colbert" won an online poll by NASA to christen the module, currently referred to as Node 3. Over 230 thousand votes were cast in Colbert's favor after he asked viewers of his Comedy Central program, The Colbert Report, to enter his name as a write-in candidate. Colbert topped NASA choices such as "Earthrise" and "Serenity" in the poll, which closed last Friday.
Colbert shouldn't celebrate just yet -- since the results of the poll are not binding, NASA can still choose a different name for the room. However, an agency spokesman says the most popular choices will get the most consideration. The new name will be announced next month. The module will be delivered to the International Space Station in December.
Publicists for ROBIN WILLIAMS say the 57-year-old comedian is recovering at the Cleveland Clinic after undergoing successful heart surgery on March 13th to replace an aortic valve. He's expected to make a full recovery in about eight weeks. ANNE HATHAWAY shocked many people when she more than held her own while singing a duet with HUGH JACKMAN on The Academy Awards, but does she have the voice to portray the late singer JUDY GARLAND? Movie producer HARVEY WEINSTEIN thinks so. He just signed the 26-year-old Hathaway to play the lead role in both film and stage adaptations of the biography Get Happy: The Life of Judy Garland. TV TALK Actress MARISKA HARGITAY returned to the New York set of Law & Order: SVU yesterday after undergoing surgery earlier this month due to the partially collapsed lung she suffered in January. She toldOK! magazine yesterday she was feeling "good." Hargitay was only expected to miss one episode during her absence... |
