You're just not listening if you're NOT getting it!
You know I don't feel a need to defend country music but I will because a friend of mine recently told me he can't stand it because it's so sad! I was like.....Buddy have you listened lately? or say in the last ten years?! Where have you been? Country is uplifting. Country music tells stories. It tells stories that are within ALL of us. Country music makes us laugh....uh, Brad Paisley with his witty story telling ability. I laugh out loud in the car sometimes. Country music makes us cry....Reba and Kenny with "Every Other Weekend". Country music makes us thankful....Zac Brown Band....Chicken Fried. Just listen to the words...closely and you'll see why. Country music makes us turn it up!!! Sugarland....Down in Mississippi. Just always imagine swing dancing to that with wonderful Boyfriend Chad who can definately skoot a boot. And it makes us want more. I think if you haven't listened to country music lately...you're just NOT listening!
I agree.... Country Rocks!
Growing up I listened to Country, as I matured (I refuse to GROW UP or OLD, :) LOL) I pulled away and stopped listening for a time.
I've recently "rediscovered" country (Thanks to my awesome.... and sometimes pushy 16 year old Daughter) and I have to say I LOVE IT! I love the "stories" the music tells whether serious or light hearted it makes my day and much like you I can be found laughing or crying depending on the song. It also reminds me of the "good ole days", when I was less mature and more wild!
I discovered 95.1 a few months back and you guys ROCK.... Since listening to 95.1 I've had the opportunity to met Randy Houser (he was awesome), Wingnut (he makes my mornings!) and win some awesome things!
Thanks for doing what you all do!
Me!
